Travelling with Tape Art through the world

This art project was a part of the Touring Consumption Conference 2013 at Karlshochschule International University in Karlsruhe, Germany. Isabella Blatter, Hauke Pflüger and me, Moritz Wittkamp were the participating tape artist. Most of the design patterns are based on sketches by Isabella Blatter. All in all the are four main patterns used: city-/landscapes, hands, main attractions and a metro network. The metro is used as the guidance line which connects the whole building with tape art elemtents. Static and immobil elements are in contrast to the flowing metro lines and the main elements which are grabbed by the taped hands. The idea behind these grabbed elements leads to the philosophy of the university itself and its multiperspective approach on science. The viewer of the tape art patterns can decide for himself if he or she thinks that the main attraction are put into or pulled out of the city-/landscape. That is how every visitor of the tape art exibition finds its own interpretation of what is going on in this globalised world.
